Hey, I’m Jess.

Aspiring cosmetic scientist with expertise in formulation, assay development, and manufacturing processes .

My Approach

Collaborative

I believe collaboration is the foundation of innovation. Open communication across departments and clear, engaging dialogue with stakeholders create the trust needed for ideas to grow into impactful results. I take pride in turning this philosophy into reality by fostering strong relationships and delivering outcomes that matter.

Creative

For me, creativity is at the heart of every scientific breakthrough. It fuels the curiosity to ask new questions and the vision to see beyond existing methods. I view it as the spark that turns research into discovery, and I’m committed to bringing that spark into everything I do.

Where a strong scientific background. . .

After earning my degree in Biology, I spent over two years at Eurofins in the environmental manufacturing department, where I helped produce and quality-check chemical products shipped around the world. Within six months, I stepped into a supervisory role, coordinating production planning and ensuring operations ran smoothly across teams. During this time, I gained hands-on experience in demand planning, product testing, and cross-department collaboration.

I was also part of a major laboratory move, which required careful planning months in advance to maintain full inventory and keep projects on track. Alongside manufacturing, I worked extensively with ELISA testing in microtiter plates, helping ensure that customers received reliable, high-quality tools to detect toxins in their samples. This role gave me a strong foundation in both leadership and technical work, and showed me how much I enjoy balancing big-picture planning with day-to-day problem-solving.

. . . meets a passion for beauty and personal care.

My time in the laboratory confirmed my desire to pursue a career in science, but I realized I wanted to focus on an industry I am truly passionate about. Fascinated by makeup, skincare, and haircare, I was determined to understand the chemistry behind the products I use and to navigate an industry where misinformation is all too common. This drive led me to pursue a Master’s in Cosmetic Science at Liverpool John Moores University, where I gained comprehensive knowledge of personal care product development, from conception through to market launch.

During a summer placement at Croda International to conduct thesis research, I acquired hands-on industry experience, designing and executing projects that bridged formulation science with real-world product development, refining my technical expertise while learning how innovative, consumer-focused products are brought successfully to market.
